Program description and what is included
The language programme is designed for 22 hours per week. Lessons are in groups of up to 14 students. The class is formed according to the language level of the children. The level is determined by a placement test. The classes are held in the morning. Once a week there is a Lesson Out in the museum or in York Cathedral. Teachers encourage an interactive approach and use authentic materials such as songs and film extracts. Essays are used to practise writing and signs, menus and news are used to practise reading. Children have access to an e-journal. Available at all levels.

- Two 'Lesson Out' in an attraction, museum or in the city
- Full-day excursion by coach on Saturday to locations such as Leeds, Scarborough, Bolton Abbey, Whiltby, Manchester
- Host family accomodation

- Transfer from Leeds and Manchester airport is included on Sundays (between 9:00 and 20:00)

Description
Melton College has welcomed students from all over the world since 1963. We are a family-run school and pride ourselves on individual attention and ensuring all our students get the same welcome, the same facilities and the same great experience! We are based in York, the capital of the North and England's best historic city! York has 200 years of history going back to the Romans and is now one of Europe's top tourist destinations. The city is also an major education centre and (also important) a top choice for shopping trips!
At the College we welcome students from 10 on our junior courses in Winter, Easter and October and from 11 in the Summer. We run General English for adults and offer specialist exam preparation for FCE, CAE and IELTS. We are a major exam centre and the only IELTS centre in York. We also run our Gold Courses for students aged 40+, a great mix of tourism and language learning. We plan all our courses for individuals but also welcome small groups. York is safe, great value, friendly and easy to reach - just 2 hours from London- and a great base to explore the UK. Edinburgh is only 2.5 hours away.

3 cursos de verano me proporcionaron un conocimiento tan fantástico que pude leer y estudiar literatura científica sin necesidad de más formación en idiomas o vocabulario cuando empecé en la facultad de medicina. Esto es algo que el dinero simplemente no puede comprar. El entrenamiento de conversación fue lo que más me gustó durante los días de 8 horas como estudiante y todavía hoy disfruto hablando con mis colegas en inglés, aunque descubrí que hay cientos de formas de hablar inglés. Veo que mantiene los altos estándares y me gustaría felicitarlo por 50 años de excelente educación en idioma inglés.
Me gustaría agradecerles una vez más, Melton College, me ayudaron a amar su idioma aún hoy. Solo puedo recomendar su escuela a cualquier alumno o padre que busque un buen lugar para que sus hijos aprendan inglés. Si tuviera hijos, este sería el lugar para ir.

Mi primer viaje al extranjero todo "por mi cuenta". Tenía 15 años... Adoraba a mi casa de familia. La Sra. y el Sr. Forth y sus dos hijas: Theresa y Margaret... La Sra. Forth era una auténtica cocinera... ¡Me preparó el mejor Yorkshire Pudding y la mejor mermelada de fresas y ruibarbo de toda mi vida! Los miércoles teníamos práctica de coro en el Melton College... Recuerdo las risitas... Una vez a la semana íbamos de viaje... Bonitos recuerdos...

He estado allí 2 veranos. ¡Tengo muy buenos recuerdos de Melton y de mis primeros pasos en el gran mundo! Tenía casi 17 años y nunca había estado tanto tiempo fuera de casa. Se siente como si fuera el momento en que comenzó mi vida adulta. Me encantaron las clases y recuerdo especialmente al señor Sanderson (el mejor profesor del mundo). Mi inglés no era muy bueno en ese momento y la primera vez mis padres me enviaron allí. La segunda vez les rogué que regresaran. Después del último verano allí, comencé a estudiar psicología. Muchas de las obras que tuve que leer y estudiar estaban en inglés. No tuve problema en entenderlos. ¡También me enamoré por completo de York! Volveré a visitar York el próximo verano y seguro que volveré a dar un paseo, como hace tantos años, desde el centro hasta la escuela. Tengo mucha curiosidad por ver si todavía se ve igual.

Es el lugar ideal para estudiar inglés. ¡Los profesores y su programa académico están fuera de este mundo! me ayudaron mucho y me hicieron sentir bastante seguro para usar lo que aprendí allí. ¿Mi alojamiento en casa de familia? bueno, en pocas palabras; ¡excelente!. me hizo sentir como en casa.
